We live in a society which has little regard for most of what is produced or consumed by us. Everything, no matter how valuable the material that is used to produce the item is, will be destined to be discarded with no concern as to where.
A good deal of our things end up on the streets of cities, mostly in areas where it can be discarded without any repercussions. This is where I have found some of most interesting items of our culture, not for what they actually are or represent, but what they have become. Their patina is that of what has been exposed to the elements for some period of time aging them much faster than if preserved in the ground for centuries similar to an artifact from a long ago civilization. The imagery is meant to have a primitive feel to them, similar to that of cave paintings.
